Stelfox is partnering with an international BP provider who is gradually building an IT technology hub from Galway.
The company service global tier 1 enterprise clients who rely on their contact centre solutions as well as other outsourced functions for day-to-day operations via multiple delivery locations.
As an international player, the company build & run multiple datacentres and interconnected networks and general IT infrastructure that operate a 24x7x365 global contact centre solution.
For this new team in Galway, we are looking to recruit a Junior Network Engineer to support the infrastructure team in Galway from a hands-on operational sesne, giving this person the opportunity to get exposed to enterprise networks in a live production environment.
As a Junior Network Engineer, you will have:
- Strong foundational knowledge in networking fundamentals: Routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, port security etc.
- Basic familiarity with firewalls (Fortinet preferred), switches (Cisco, HP/Aruba, or Ubiquiti), and Wi-Fi management
- Exposure to network monitoring, patching, and configuration backup tools
- Willing to handle cable tracing, port patching, basic site surveys, and physical troubleshooting
- Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
Bonus points, if you have exposure to the following:
- Fortinet CLI or FortiManager
- Exposure to SD-WAN or Zero-trust network access models.
- Any certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE
If you are early in your IT networking career, this could be a great opportunity to join an expanding team in Galway, work closely with an experienced Senior Network Engineer and exposure to Live enterprise networks from a operational, security, monitoring and troubleshooting perspective to expand your skills.
