Senior DevOps Engineer (IT Infrastructure)- Contractor Position - Daily Rates - Global Tech Company - NEW Role
12 month initial contract with a view to extension. This is a long-term / rolling contract position. Primarily remote role with ad-hoc on-site required. Rates €450-€550 max depending on experience.
Candidates are required to be based in the Dublin (Ireland) region for escalations.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute as a DevOps team member focused on modernization and automation specific to containerization and public cloud/on-prem infrastructure-related technologies
- Design and implement orchestration/workflows that integrate multiple services to provide self-service fully automated services
- Be responsible for working on building, automating, and supporting application and infrastructure deployment services
- Identify and implement process improvements and documentation
- Develop and document operations and run playbooks
- Guide and mentor teammates from a technical perspective
- The successful candidate will own their projects from definition to deployment, and will be responsible for the quality of everything they deliver
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience using tools/technologies to develop infrastructure as code (IAC) such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Azure Resource Manager, AWS CloudFormation, GCP Cloud Deployment Manager, etc
- Minimum of 4 years of experience using or integrating CI/CD technologies such as GitHub, Gitlab, Jenkins
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Kubernetes and/or container-related technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in system administration for OS (Linux, Windows) and/or middleware (web servers, application servers, database, etc)
- Experience with scripting tools such as Bash, Python, Go, PowerShell
- Experience with one or more Public Cloud Providers (Google, Amazon, Azure)
- Experience with on-prem infrastructure is nice to have
- Working knowledge of Google Suite Tools, Atlassian Confluence, and JIRA
- Cloud or other relevant technical certifications
- A professional understanding of enterprise/corporate environment infrastructure and application components.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams and facilitate conversations that lead to agreed direction
- Ability and desire to work with people all over the world, with the probability of a varying work schedule to accommodate different time zones
