Job description

Stelfox is working closely with a innovative player in the U.S, who is using wasted/stranded energy as their main source to power high performance computing data centres that their customers rely on when running energy intensive GPU's for AI, running LLM's, Computational biology, fluid dynamics or other resource intensive computational services. 

They company is on a global scale growth journey as they roll out multiple modular data centers worldwide, as they locate their services close to energy sources to utilise the value of stranded/wasted energy.

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced hands-on Network Operations Manager to join the NetOps function, where you will manage a team of network engineers across the globe that implement and operate the global edge, backbone and data center network for high performance compute clusters with GPUs.

As a Network Ops Manager, you will play a key role to ensure seamless operational, security and scailability of a global network infrastructure. In this role you will also manage the NOC to provide 24/7 monitoring and management of the network infrastructure implemented to ensure operational coverage and high availability of network services to meet the demands/needs of customers.

Preferred experience for this position:

  • 10+ years experience operating at scale in a production environment, at least 2+ years in leading/managing teams.
  • Strong expertise in network protocols, including TCP/IP, QoS, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS related technologies like RSVP-TE, LDP etc.
  • Strong understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools like SNMP, IPFIX, Sflow/netflow and Telemetry.
  • Familiar with data center network architecture, such as Fat Tree architecture, CLOS, BGP-TE, and peering for edge.
  • Hands-on experience with major network devices like Cisco, Mellanox, Arista, Juniper and other mainstream vendors.
  • Familiar with technologies like RDMA, Infiniband, and RoCE will be a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of public cloud architecture connectivity options to AWS, GCP, Azure, Ali Cloud, OCI, etc.
  • Good understanding of IPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 coexistence technologies.
  • Programming/scripting in Python, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or other languages will be a plus.
  • Team player and participate in Cloud network global on-call rotation.

This is a new team in Dublin/Ireland and ultimately will cover the wider EMEA region as the company expands internationally.
