Job description

Stelfox is working closely with a innovative player in the U.S, who is using wasted/stranded energy as their main source to power high performance computing data centres that their customers rely on when running energy intensive GPU's for AI, running LLM's, Computational biology, fluid dynamics or other resource intensive computational services.

The company is opening a new office in Dublin/Ireland as they first international office outside of the U.S due to their global expansion plans as they rollout more modular DC's with AI-focused GPU clusters for customers.

Due to this expansion, we are looking for a Lead IT System Support Engineer or equivalent to help support all they internal users and well as customers on various company IT projects.

The role sits inside the Service Desk function, however this is no ordinary service desk, as only 15% of your time is resolving tier 2/3 tickets, with the remaining 85% of your time firmly focused on various internal IT projects that company users and customers rely on daily from an operational standpoint.

Some recent example include:

  • Rolling out a new MDM (Mobile Device Management) platform for users via Google MDM.
  • Office IT fitout for new locations to ensure users are setup and able to access company resources
  • Rolling out and management of an IAM solution for employee and customer identity access.

As the first person in this team in Dublin/Ireland, you will cover activities such as:

  • Onboarding / offboarding employees/customers from access/security perspective
  • Support Desk projects
  • Handling escalations tickets via Jira
  • Adopt new IT support and management platforms.
  • Ensure systems are compliant with security policies
  • Manage and monitoring IT assets within the office.
  • Be invovled in IT projects that affect users.
  • Ability to mentor and lead other junior team members as the team grows.
  • Providing handoffs to U.S team when they come online.

Preferred experience / skills:

  • Prior experience covering Tier 3 escalations issues.
  • Prior experience with EDR/XDR platforms.
  • Prior expeience with MDM automation (like GoogleMDM, JAMF, Kandji)
  • Prior experience with Identity management platfroms and SSO, SAML 2.0 etc.
  • Experience working in a project based environment.
  • Experience supporting Macs, Linux and Window machines using command line
  • Previous experience working in large enterprises with a significant end-user audience.
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms from a support environment preferred.

You will be the first person in this team in Dublin so plenty of scope for growth in the role as the office expands in Dublin.
