Ethical Hacker (White Hat) - Galway
Stelfox is supporting the leadership team of a new employer entering Galway to help expand their capability across IT Security, Infrastructure, Networking that supports their parent company running business critical services and applications for customers globally.
We are seeking a skilled Ethical Hacker (White Hat) to join the cybersecurity team. The Ethical Hacker will be responsible for identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities across internal systems (Hardware, networks and software). This role involves conducting penetration tests, evaluating system security, and collaborating with the IT team to implement robust security measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct penetration testing to identify security vulnerabilities.
- Analyze and evaluate potential security threats of our internal network and systems.
- Develop and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure secure installation of new hardware and software.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.
- Create detailed reports on security breaches and the extent of damage.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on information security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in a security engineering role with a focus on white hat ethical hacking to identify vulnerabilities in hardware, software and networks.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification is required.
- Advanced knowledge of networking systems and security software.
- In-depth understanding of hacking techniques and countermeasures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols /concepts.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Perl or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically.
This position is based in Galway, with hybrid working on offer (expectation of being able to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per week).
